Peter Hawkins
His involvement in stories started when he worked in theatre, community arts, then dramatherapy and psychodrama and then in psychotherapy. When working at the University of Bath he developed with Professor Peter Reason storytelling as a research methodology (Reason and Hawkins 1988) and with Adrian Maclean ways of understanding and working with organisational culture using the organisations, formal, informal and implicit stories. He is co-author of the best selling Supervision in the Helping Professions Open University Press 1989/2000 and Supervision of Coaches, Mentors and Consultants: Polishing the Professional Mirror Open University Press March 2006, and author numerous other chapters, papers and articles. The two areas of interest come together in his interest in how we achieve transformation in individuals, team, organisations and wider systems, at the level of thinking, emotions and fundamental purpose. |
